Orange County Released Inmates is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot verify custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the office that created the record.

Find the Correct Records Office

Orange County’s adult jail records do not come from one county sheriff jail. Central Virginia Regional Jail, or CVRJ, is a separate regional authority and holds the jail-management record for a CVRJ commitment. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is the proper custodian for arrest records it created. Courts hold orders and case files. VADOC controls state prison and state supervision records. Office hours not published in the official source are identified as such instead of being estimated.

Central Virginia Regional Jail

Custodian of Records
13021 James Madison Highway
Orange, VA 22960
Phone: 540-672-3222
Records-counter hours: not published on the official CVRJ FOIA page.

Use CVRJ for booking, custody, release, transfer, and initial-intake photo records it holds. The official channel expressly given for records requests is mail. Call before relying on an unofficial email, form, or walk-in method.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office

Michael LaCasse, Chief Deputy/Major and FOIA Officer
11282 Government Center Drive, Suite A
Orange, VA 22960

Fax: 540-672-7824

The Sheriff’s FOIA page accepts requests by mail, fax, email, in person, or phone and states that a request need not be written or cite FOIA. The agency operates continuously, but that fact does not establish round-the-clock administrative counter hours. Ask OCSO for an arrest report or adult booking photograph it possesses, not CVRJ’s jail-release entry.
